World’s cities – lit up at night

This is an incredible video from NASA. (Is it a NASA guy doing the folksy voiceover too? Am going to guess it is.)

It’s 40 years since the famous Blue Marble image that Apollo 17 gave us. Some of the same things come to mind – eg the difference between physical and political boundaries.

But then this video – check the lights in northern Italy! – also begs the question of how much we’re screwing things up. It’s just a couple of minutes long. Marvel away.
